Students Head to Stockholm for Catering Challenge
Hospitality and Catering students at Accrington and Rossendale College were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to put their know how to the test and improve their skills whilst living and working in Sweden.
In November, eight AccRoss College learners embarked on a three week trip to the Swedish capital, to absorb master classes at Astar College’s specialist catering department and get hands on work experience in Swedish restaurants.
Level 3 learner Sam Archer said “Sweden was a great experience in which I gained and expanded my skills in the catering industry.”
The trip, thanks to funding from Erasmus+ and the British Council, saw students fully immersed in Swedish culture to get the most of the experience, working in the local industry and learning to live independently, residing on a boat on Stockholm’s harbour.
“Sweden was my first time abroad, I absolutely would love to go again! I made things I wouldn’t even have dreamed of!” Charlotte Benbow Level 3 Catering learner
Danny Booth Project Head, commented, “The trip was a massive success! Each and every student performed to the highest of their abilities, learning new skills along the way.”
Below you will find just a few of the photo’s taken by learners and staff on this fantastic work experience.
